All families can book a free 45-minute first session. Six- and twelve-session packages are paid in advance; Weekly Flex is paid when booking.

WHAT IS THE WRITTEN LEARNING PLAN?

Included with Six-Week Focus and Term Progress. After the initial assessment, you receive a short written summary of your child’s strengths, two or three learning priorities, how I’ll teach those skills and what we’ll look for to check progress.

At the end of your block, I’ll explain in writing what has improved, what needs further work and what I recommend next. For a twelve-session block, you’ll also receive a written update around the halfway point.

WHICH SOUNDS LIKE YOUR CHILD?

NOT ALL CHILDREN NEED THE SAME THING.

Assessment means finding the right next step — not giving every child the same test.

IF YOUR CHILD IS LOSING CONFIDENCE

We’ll start with manageable tasks, pinpoint the sticking points and build success step by step — without turning every lesson into another test.

IF YEAR 6 SATs ARE ON YOUR MIND

We’ll check the relevant reading, maths or grammar skills, teach the gaps and use SATs-style questions where useful. Writing can be reviewed through samples of their work.

IF YOU’RE CONSIDERING THE 11+

We’ll look at relevant English, maths and reasoning skills, use suitable practice questions and discuss where targeted preparation is likely to help.

IF THEY’RE YOUNGER OR NEED FOUNDATIONS

Phonics, reading, number sense, writing and understanding can be checked through short activities and conversation — not unnecessary formal papers.

Lessons are subject to availability. Lessons are available online or at your family home within approximately 10 miles of Burnham. Travel within this area is included in the advertised price.

BOOKING & CANCELLATIONS

STRAIGHTFORWARD ARRANGEMENTS.

PAYMENTS

Weekly sessions are paid when booking for the sessions scheduled. Six- and twelve-session blocks are paid in advance. Your regular time is confirmed once arrangements are agreed.

RESCHEDULING

Give at least 24 hours’ notice to move a session. We’ll arrange an alternative time where available. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice are normally charged in full.

ENDING LESSONS

Two weeks’ notice is required to stop a regular weekly booking. Unused prepaid block sessions are refunded at the package’s per-session rate, excluding lessons already delivered or charged under the cancellation policy.

IF I NEED TO CANCEL

I'll offer an alternative time or refund the affected session. These terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights. Any online or distance-booking cancellation rights that apply will be explained before payment.

In-person tutoring is normally available within approximately 10 miles of Burnham. Travel within this area is included in the advertised lesson price. Lessons take place at the family’s home.

THE IMPORTANT BITS.

Is the first session really free?

Yes. The first 45-minute session is free, with a chance to decide what works for your family. We’ll do some real learning together, identify strengths and areas to work on, and discuss a sensible next step. It is an initial picture, not a formal assessment.

How do payments work?

Weekly lessons are paid when booking for the sessions scheduled that month. Six-session blocks are £270 and twelve-session packages are £525. Packages are paid upfront. Payment details are agreed before lessons begin.

What if we need to stop?

Give two weeks’ notice to end a recurring weekly slot. For prepaid blocks, unused sessions will be refunded at the original per-session package rate. Sessions already delivered and late cancellations are not refundable, except where your statutory rights apply.

What if we need to reschedule?

Give at least 24 hours’ notice to rearrange a session, and we’ll agree a new time subject to availability. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are normally charged in full. If I need to cancel, you can rearrange or receive a refund for that session.

Will we get progress updates?

Weekly Flex includes feedback during lessons and verbal next steps, but not a written learning plan or scheduled written progress report. Six-Week Focus includes a written learning plan and an end-of-block progress review. Term Progress includes the same plan, a written halfway update and a final written review. Assessment activities are matched to your child’s age and goals.
